«We are taking this to court to preserve Cyprus’ reputation,» said Sortiris Charalambous, deputy chief of police on Cyprus, to TV 2 Nettavisen. «Everyone is allowed to have some fun, but when it evolves into this, it’s criminal.»

Deputy Chief of Police Sortiris Charalambous has a large number of pictures as evidence against the three man charged in the cruise scandal.

Pictures and video
Six A3 pages filed with full-color printouts of pictures from the so-called sex cruise, taken about 20 days ago, are lying on the desk in front of him. According to the police, the pictures are of nothing less than sex orgies.

These pictures, in addition to a video from the trip, are the police’s best evidence in the criminal case against the captain and his son, who owns the boat «Apa Queen», and the British man who organizes and directs the tours.

«We have statements from several witnesses too, but these people do not wish to appear in court,» Charalambous said to TV 2 Nettavisen.

TV 2 Nettavisen has seen the shocking pictures. Most of the pictures resemble the scenes TV 2 Nettavisen witnessed when we went on the cruise Saturday, but several pictures are much worse than anything we witnessed. The pictures could have been from any given uncensored porn magazine.

There are pictures of three girls who masturbate and give oral sex to three boys. These pictures are taken during the sex competition the organizers put on during the trip.

In addition, there is one picture of two boys who have sex with one girl on a bench out on deck. In the window behind them, several people are lined up watching as the half-naked youth going at it. Another picture is of a naked boy dancing around on deck with a number of girls.

«We think this is something which happens all the time, and it is therefore important to have a follow-up on this case,» the deputy chief of police explained to TV 2 Nettavisen.

Several of the police’s pictures are of women who perform oral sex on male passengers.

Norwegians on the cruise
TV 2 Nettavisen has been informed by several sources that Norwegians go on this cruise all the time. However, it has not been established whether or not any Norwegians were on the trip about 20 days ago.

Wednesday of last week, eight Norwegians were onboard, five boys and three girls. They were witness to sex games which included masturbating and oral sex.

Youth, both in Cyprus and in Norway, claim girls were pressed to perform oral sex.

«Two British girls broke down afterwards, and cried for the rest of the evening because they had boyfriends back home,» said a 29-year-old man from Oslo, who went on the cruise some time ago. «It was evidently group pressure.»

TV 2 Nettavisen asked the five Norwegian boys if they thought the girls knew what they had gotten themselves into.

«No, we don’t think so, and when they were ordered to get an erection on a boy in the shortest possible time, they started to discuss with each other,» said Kristoffer Sandvold, age 18. «It looked like they were considering whether or not to do it.»

TV 2 Nettavisen got access to a video from one of the cruises, and it clearly shows that the crew and organizers of the cruise focus on sex. They push people to drink as much as possible and try to get people to make out with each other.

A man dressed as a cop walks around and handcuffs two and two randomly picked people together and the only way to get free is to make out with each other.

However, the film does not include the worst part, where girls have oral sex with random boys.

Long prison sentences
The three charged men are facing three years in jail and fines of NOK 30,000 (USD 4,400) each if they are convicted. Charalambous said that on Cyprus criminals are seldom sentenced to the maximum punishment, and he did not want to speculate in the result of possible sentencing.

Charalambous has formerly also mentioned the use of party drugs on board «Apa Queen». He repeated his suspicions Tuesday, but said that it is difficult to pursue.

«We have several sources on board who say drugs are used onboard, but again, no one of them wants to come forward, and we have no concrete evidence,» Charalambous stated. «We suspect that the people, who use it, bring it onboard themselves.»
