181,267 passengers have travelled with the popular Hurtigruta in the third
quarter, a number almost equal to last year’s good result.

So far this year, almost half a million passengers have travelled along the
coast with Hurtigruta. In both July and August there was an increase of 1.5
percent travellers compared with the year before, according to numbers
presented by Statistics Norway. However, a decrease of 5.7 percent was noted
in September. The month presented a downswing last year as well with a
decrease of 8.2 percent.
The largest increase of passengers on the Hurtigruta was on the south bond
route in July and August. A total of 2.5 percent more passengers travelled
with Hurtigruta compared with last year.
During the first nine months of the year 439.008 people travelled with the
popular Hurtigruta, while 441,649 travelled the coastal route with the
company last year in the same period. The numbers equal a decrease of 0.6
percent. The number of passengers travelling north bond is about equal to
those who travel south bond.
