The Crown Prince couple visits Russia

Crown Princess Mette-Marit came to Russia by plan but she chooses to continue the trip by train as she and Crown Prince Haakon leave for Moscow Tuesday night.

The pregnant Crown Princess chose to stay at the hotel and rest after the travelling while the Crown Prince made an official visit to Valentina Matvienko, the city’s governor.

Mette-Marit was present at the press conference later in the day and she assured everyone that she was doing fine even thought she still had a little bit of a cold.

Culture and architecture

“We are looking forward to experiencing some fantastic architecture and culture,” said the Crown Prince to the Norwegian news bureau (NTB), as they were leaving to se “Swan Lake” at the Mariinskij theatre. “St Petersburg is known to be a cultural centre.”

Travelling by train

Tuesday night the Crown Prince couple will continue their travels by train to Moscow on “The Red Arrow”.

“It is a well known train ride that we look forward to experiencing,” the Crown Prince said.

The Crown Prince couple are returning to Norway Saturday.
